Junior High Life (7-8)

At Toledo Christian, we make it our mission to help each junior high student become the person God meant him or her to be. We provide our students with opportunities to try new activities, while deepening long-standing skills and interests.

Tribes

Based on the idea of the tribes of Israel, our six tribes are student groups blended with seventh and eighth graders. Each tribe is led by a junior high faculty member. The goal of each tribe is to build friendships, create belonging, and highlight different gifts and talents as the groups compete in monthly tribe challenges.

Clubs and Organizations

Junior high students are encouraged at Toledo Christian to participate in extracurricular activities. Studies show that extra-curricular activities can help improve student academic performance, promote higher student self-esteem, provide social opportunities, and pursue student interests. Toledo Christian is proud to offer our junior high students over 15 athletic sports and club opportunities (i.e. Quiz Bowl, Writing Club, Chess Club, Marching/Pep Band, Theatre, and Color Guard).

Chapel Praise Band

Students develop musical and performance skills as they lead worship weekly in junior high chapel.

Chess Club

Students interested in learning the game of chess and competing against their fellow TC peers meet weekly.

Color Guard

Female students are invited to perform with the high school marching band. Participants will learn to use flags and baton. Rehearsals are after school.

Power of the Pen Writing Club

Students meet to create and share various pieces of writing while preparing for the Power of the Pen competition.

Theatre Troupe

Students are invited to audition for an annual junior high drama production. Students may also audition for high school productions.

Quiz Bowl Team

Quiz Bowl is an academic competition in which TC students compete head-to-head against other schools to answer questions from all general areas of knowledge including history, literature, science, fine arts, current events, sports, popular culture, and more.

JH Athletics

The Junior High Athletics program is a source of school spirit at Toledo Christian, offering opportunities for rewarding accomplishments and successes for many students. Toledo Christian is committed to helping each of its students grow intellectually, spiritually, and physically. We are proud to offer our junior school students many sport opportunities including Cross Country, Volleyball, Boys Soccer, Football, Cheerleading, Basketball, Baseball, and Track.

Summer Activities

TC Summer Athletic Camps

Toledo Christian provides several athletic summer camps for students entering grades 2 - 8. Camps provide quality instruction by a warm and caring staff that emphasize character development and sportsmanship.
