High School Life (9-12)
High School Life
Helping each student become the person God created him or her to be means focusing on developing the whole student - academically, athletically, artistically and spiritually. We hold ourselves to the highest standards of performance, creativity, and education. Beyond the classroom, we provide our high school students with enriching programs and activities that expand their minds and provide fun in fellowship with one another.
LeadershipAll high school students at Toledo Christian are challenged to learn leadership skills inside and outside the classrooms, then given opportunities to apply those skills by leading others. We know the students of today are the leaders of tomorrow and we train our students to be loving, godly leaders.
Student Senate is composed of representatives from each high school class. The senators lead the planning of our annual Homecoming event and other important student activities.
National Honor Society
Toledo Christian honors selected students for membership who have demonstrated substantial evidence of excellence in the areas of academics, leadership, character, and service. 2019 marked the 27th year of inducting students into the society.
House System Captains
House System Captains work together to organize and implement activities and events designed to lead their house members to a greater love for God and for each other, as they seek opportunities to serve the community through their house. Captains are encouraged to love like Jesus, and to make their house a second home for the students they are serving.
5th Grade Senior Camp Counselors accompany our TC 5th grade students every year for their annual week long trip to Lutheran Memorial Camp. Seniors are assigned to lead, supervise, and mentor 5th grade students through creating a sense of cabin community, leading nightly devotions, enforcing camp rules, and modeling a love for God and His creation.
The House System Model was started to create a stronger community among the students by encouraging interpersonal relationships and to provide students with leadership opportunities. Each house comprises of a mixture of our 9th - 12th grade students and three student leaders, two house captains and one house chaplain.
Clubs and Organizations
High School students are encouraged at Toledo Christian to participate in extra-curricular activities. Studies show that extra-curricular activities can help improve student academic performance, promote higher student self esteem, provide social opportunities, and pursue student interests. Toledo Christian is proud to offer over 20 athletic sports and club opportunities (i.e. Quiz Bowl, Chess Club, Marching/Pep Band, Theatre Troupe, Color Guard, and Seraphim Choir) for our students to participate in throughout their high school years.
Quiz Bowl is an academic competition in which TC students compete head-to-head against other schools to answer questions from all general areas of knowledge including history, literature, science, fine arts, current events, sports, popular culture, and more.
Students interested in learning the game of chess and competing against their fellow TC peers meet weekly.
Female students are invited to perform with the high school marching band. Participants will learn to use flags and baton. Rehearsals are after school.
Our High School Athletics program is a source of school spirit at Toledo Christian, offering opportunities for rewarding accomplishments and successes for many students. Toledo Christian School is committed to helping each of its students grow intellectually, spiritually, and physically. We are proud to offer our high school students many sport opportunities including Cross Country, Volleyball, Football, Soccer, Cheerleading, Basketball, Wrestling, Bowling, Baseball, Softball, and Track.
TC Summer Athletic Camps
Toledo Christian provides several opportunities through the summer for our JV and Varsity athletes to lead our athletic summer camps for students entering grades 2 - 8.
